Through individualized care plans and proven treatment modalities, including MAT services, we help our patients reclaim control and rebuild their futures. We are located on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula, surrounded by the great outdoors. Locally we have many city, county, state, and federal parks. We are surrounded by an extravagant number of outdoor activities including hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, ocean beaches, lakes, rivers, bird watching and much more. We offer our employees a wonderful benefits plan. All full-time employees are eligible for Medical, Prescription, Vision and Dental. If your plan is employee only, we will cover 100% of the premiums, you will also have the option to add dependents at an additional cost. Depending on the location and the position we may be able to offer relocation assistance. We pay 100% of the premiums for our full-time employees for both short-term and long-term disability plans. We have a gracious employee leave program to include 14 holidays, paid annual leave and paid sick leave. All of our clinics are eligible for tuition repayment assistance through National Health Services Corps (NHSC), HRSA Loan Repayment Program, and other tuition assistance programs. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for caring for patients, maintaining accurate and current medical records, and administering follow-up appointments. Specific duties and day-to-day tasks of the Nurse Practitioner are prompted by assignments, and by requirements to fulfill responsibilities established by the Supervisor.
  • These duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Provides primary care to patients of the Quinault Wellness Center with appropriate clinical management which may include prescription of medications, referrals, and education/counselling. Manages common health issues that arise include Hepatitis C, Wound Management, URI, HTN, and asthma. Diagnoses or treats complex, unstable, comorbid, episodic, or emergency conditions in collaboration with other health care providers as necessary. Provides medical services including taking a history and physical examination for the opiate treatment program and performs appropriate follow-up visits. Accurately and efficiently monitor daily doses of Methadone/Buprenorphine (Suboxone/Subutex) or other medications as indicated by the physician. Provides outpatient detoxification and treatment services to persons addicted to opiates. Develops treatment plans, based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines. Provides general health counseling services under the supervision of the Medical Director and follows the progress of patients. Makes appropriate records of findings during examinations and submits charts to the Medical Doctor for review and signature. Educates patients regarding how to take prescribed medication and possible side effects. Monitors organization-wide performance improvement activities as a member of the clinic medical team and participates in staff meetings and/or consultations. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • QualificationsRequired: Licensed Nurse Practitioner (including RN) in good standing with the State of Washington. Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS). Knowledge of the current medical practices in primary care, mental health, and addiction medicine. Management of sexually acquired illnesses, Hep C, family planning and familiarity with prenatal care beneficial. Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures. Knowledge and adherence to state (RCW, WAC) and federal confidentiality regulations (42 CFR part 2). Applicants must always conduct self ethically and professionally. Knowledge of HIPAA and PHI requirements. Knowledge of common office and administrative procedures. Skills in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Skills in the operation of a personal computer and standard office programs and equipment. Ability to maintain good personal and ethical boundaries. Empathy and good communications skills. Motivational interviewing skills or a desire to learn MI. Ability to work in a cross-culture environment and understands the social and cultural context of the patients at the Quinault Wellness Center, understanding the role of trauma, historical, community, family, and personal experience in wellness and recovery. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. Ability to provide excellent customer service. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, and outside agencies.

Previous substance use disorder treatment and/or primary care experience strongly preferred.

License

Requirements: Must maintain a valid Washington State Driver’s License and must be insurable through our company. Must maintain a valid Nurse Practitioner license with the State of Washington Department of Health. Must maintain a valid Registered Nurse license with the State of Washington Department of Health.

Requirements: Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Employee must have the ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Employee is required to have visual acuity to perform activities such as: using computer systems to enter data, evaluate data, transcribe, and read data from computer. This position will require the employee to sit for extended periods of time.

Requirements

Requires a valid Washington State Nurse Practitioner and RN license along with BLS certification. Candidates should have knowledge of addiction medicine, primary care, and federal confidentiality regulations.
