The role involves the production and validation of cytogenetic media and reagents, as well as performing chromosome analysis using microscopy. Additionally, the trainee is responsible for equipment calibration, preventative maintenance, and general laboratory support duties.

Labcorp is seeking a Quality Control Technologist Trainee to join our team in Santa Fe, NM.

Work Schedules: Morning Shift Monday - Friday: 8:00 am - 4:30.

Required overtime based on business needs This role comes with a $1,000 sign-on bonus New Grads Welcome – Full Training Provided Job Responsibilities: Production and aliquoting of cytogenetic media and reagents Validation of cytogenetic media and reagents/ Statistical analysis Harvest adhesion and suspension cultures that result in slide preparations Chromosome analysis using microscopy and computer imaging system Facilitate or perform calibration of pipettes, thermometers, and other instruments Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures Wash, sterilize, and process laboratory dishware Perform general lab support duties Perform daily performance monitors of equipment in accordance with SOP requirements.

Recognize deviations from the standard or normal results.

Clean equipment as outlines in users' manuals or SOP.

Adjust or calibrate equipment according to user's manual or SOP.

Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology Preferred Qualification: Current or prior Labcorp experience ASCP or AMT certification Additional Job Standards Previous clinical laboratory testing experience Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems Ability to work independently and within a team environment High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills Able to pass a standardized color blindness test At Labcorp we have a passion in helping people live happy and healthy lives. Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Requirements
