Assists physicians in the examination and treatment of patients by performing clinical tasks and diagnostic tests. Manages administrative duties including scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records.

Assists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of Physician.
Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records all other information in patients' charts.
Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment.
Hands instruments and materials to doctor as directed.
Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
Inventories medical supplies and materials. Request supplies from Practice Manager
Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests.
Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests.
Schedule's appointments, keeps x-ray and other medical records, performs secretarial tasks, and completes insurance forms.
Keys data into computer to maintain office and patient records.
Perform blood draws competently and expediently with as little patient discomfort as possible.
Medical Assistants are responsible for assisting patients with mobility and transport needs within the clinical setting. Duties include helping patients in and out of wheelchairs or exam tables, escorting or transporting patients to various areas, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process. Medical Assistants are expected to monitor patients during transport for signs of distress, maintain the cleanliness of transport equipment, and provide emotional support when necessary.
Requires an associate degree or equivalent experience and a mandatory professional certification. Must be physically capable of standing for long periods and lifting up to 300 pounds when assisting patients.
