About the role

Performs patient care for diagnostic and interventional Cardiac Cath/EP lab procedures, including pre- and post-procedure prep and recovery. Manages moderate sedation, records vital signs, and maintains continuity of care in a fast-paced environment.

Job summary

Performs the patient care aspect of diagnostic and interventional Cardiac Cath/EP lab procedures. Preps and recovers patient pre/post cath. Performs moderate sedation and records vital signs. Maintains continuity of care for patients while they are in the cardiac cath lab, prepares charts for procedures. Operate POC testing as required. The Cardiac Cath Registered Nurse must be able to maintain calm while being effective and accurate in critical situations, foster an environment of collaboration and respect, and maintains a positive approach to working in a fast paced environment. Must take emergency call with a 30 minute response time.

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved School of Professional Nursing.
  • Licensed by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and two (2) years’ experience as a Critical Care Nurse preferred.
  • Maintain current BLS certification.
  • ACLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment and maintain current.
  • As a condition of continued employment staff members must maintain current status at all times and not allows his/her certification/licensure/ registry to expire or he or she will no longer be compliant with the requirement of the job description.
