Summary/Objective The surgical tech functions as a cooperative team member in the operating room by handling the necessary instruments for surgery.
This position can proactively anticipate the needs of the surgical team and be ready to aid when needed.
Their duties revolve around the sterilization of the operating room, the equipment/tools within the operating room, and the circulating operating room staff.
Essential Duties/ Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Ensures sterility of supplies, instruments, and equipment while in the operating room.
Assists surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment.
Assists in gathering necessary surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
Transports all surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment to appropriate cleaning areas.
Assists in sterilization and cleaning of instrument sets.
Gowns and gloves surgeons and assistants for the operating room.
Follows all equipment and safety guidelines.
Possess working knowledge of use and care of supplies, instruments, and equipment.
Serves as a resource to other members within the operating room.
Communicates effectively and courteously with staff and patients within the practice.
Flexible schedule, operating days can start as early as 6 AM.
Travel to multiple locations may be required.
License and Certifications Current BLS certification Current Surgical Technician Certification Work Schedule: PRN 6 am - 4 pm
