Provides direct patient care and support by performing selected nursing procedures under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Assists medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of ICU patients.
Position: Nursing Assistant Unit Description: 2H ICU is a 12-bed cardiovascular and thoracic intensive care unit. Primarily serving post-op Cardiovascular and Thoracic surgeries (CABG, Valve, TAVR, Bronch/Thor, and other thoracic and vascular surgery). This unit also cares for general surgery post-op, critical cardiac Cath lab interventions, sepsis, Cardiogenic shock, and other complex care ICU patients.
Shift: Part-Time, Nights
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, the Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Tech (PCT/HUC): Provides direct patient care and related support by performing selected nursing procedures Routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients. Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures Required: High School Diploma or equivalent Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification (SRNA, CNA) required or successful completion of first year of a Nursing program and validation of a clinical rotation. (Must provide a letter from school verifying completion of first year clinicals.) Basic Life Support - Applicants will have 30 days from their hired date to provide completion of this certification if they don’t have it already.
