The EKG Technician is responsible for performing various cardiac diagnostic tests, including 12 and 15 lead EKGs and Holter monitoring. They also assist in patient preparation for procedures and support nursing staff with clinical and clerical duties.
Essential Functions: Accurately screen patients prior to their arrival, based upon medical history and medication list, to anticipate which patients will need EKG or ABI. Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the completion of vitals and EKGs. Perform ABI and staple or suture removals. Clinical performance of / assistance with non-invasive testing: blood pressures, preparing patients for various stress tests and transporting patients. Complete vital signs and EKG. Daily operation of the Tracemaster EKG System. Assist the nursing staff with clerical and clinical duties. All other duties as assigned. Additional Requirements Required: Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies
Heavy work - exerting up to 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or up to 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or up to 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and or up to 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects.
