Job Summary and Responsibilities Job Summary: This 24 bed critical care unit houses patients being admitted for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular care.

This unit also entails ICU and PCU levels of care.

Each private room is large enough to house all necessary pumps and equipment while allowing for space for family support (when allowed).

This includes CRRT, Impella, IABP, and ventilators.

Staffing is based on national standards of care and includes: 2:1, 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3.

Essential Duties: Provides continuous cardiac monitoring, arrhythmia recognition and intervention.

Initiates and titrates multiple, complex cardiac related infusions at higher doses.

Manages intubated/mechanically ventilated patients.

Manages patients with acute neurological/neurosurgical events.

Manages acute trauma patients.

Job Requirements Required Graduation from an accredited school of nursing., upon hire and 1-2 years med/surg experience or New graduate with completion of senior practicum in a specialty area i.e.: Critical Care, ED, PACU orFor those with no previous PCU/ICU experience, must successfully complete the PCU residency or the critical care residency program Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire and Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months and Preferred Bachelors Of Science Nursing and One year of related work experience in an acute care setting, upon hire and Previous PCU/ICU experience or Critical RN Adult/Neonatal/Pediatric/Acute, upon hire and Certified Neuroscience RN, upon hire

Requirements

Requires graduation from an accredited nursing school and a WA Registered Nurse license. Candidates need 1-2 years of med/surg experience or be a new graduate with a specialty practicum, with BLS required and ACLS required within six months.
