About the role

Assist recovery staff with group sessions, community outreach, and education for individuals and families. Maintain client files and provide administrative support to the Recovery Director and clinical staff.

Job Purpose & Position Overview

  • This is a position that requires working towards their Substance Abuse Counseling licensure. This position will provide assistance to the Office manager and the Therapist and Counselor to provide service to individuals, couples, and families of all ages in a culturally sensitive manner.

  • Duties/Responsibilities: Work with Recovery staff to assist with the groups. Work with the Recovery staff to assist with community outreach, and education. Attend meetings, activities, and trainings. Observe professional standards of confidentiality and demonstrate ethical behavior. Empower families with information and support. Act as a resource to families and community agencies and organizations. Provide outreach and education regarding best practice to physicians and other community providers. Assist parents in communication more effectively with medical personnel and other health providers Help families by providing support education, access to community resources and facilitating workshops. Facilitate family involvement in supportive and related activities. Maintain assigned client files and generate all needed documentation for those files in an ethical manner. Other administrative duties as designated by the Recovery Director or designee.

Advocates for role of public health in providing population health services. Collaborates with individuals and organizations in developing a vision for healthy community. Policy Development and Program Planning Develop and implement program and organizational goals and objectives through community health improvement and strategic planning. Communication and Cultural Competency Communicate the roles of governmental public health and public health stakeholders as well as information to influence behavior and improve public health. Financial Planning and Management Uses performance management systems for program and organizational improvement.
