About the role

Provides non-clinical support to the rehabilitation department, including transporting patients and managing therapy equipment. Coordinates therapy sessions with nursing staff and maintains the cleanliness and supply levels of the therapy gym.

Must have C.N.A. certification Pay range is $23 - $25 per hour based on experience.

The schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Work directly with and as a member of the Physical Therapy department to: Transfer patients following safety precautions as directed by the therapy department Transport patients to/from therapy sessions Actively communicate in person and over the phone with therapists and patients to coordinate therapy sessions Maintain cleanliness in therapy gym Keep therapy gym stocked with supplies Print and coordinate therapist schedules Pull reports and distribute to therapists as directed Coordinate therapy sessions with patients and nursing staff to ensure timely visits Troubleshoot with IT equipment and computer dysfunction Interact with patients and family members to coordinate therapy Maintain/manage all therapy equipment including Wheelchairs Assist therapists in tasks they delegate to you Experience with/Understanding of Microsoft Windows Experience with/Understanding of Microsoft Outlook General Purpose Performs a variety of non-clinical support tasks to enhance the efficiency of rehabilitation services, including equipment management, patient transport, and coordination with therapy staff.

Assists in monitoring timely filed and completed rehabilitation documentation as instructed by supervisor.

Essential Duties Assists with and performs set up as assigned for physical, occupational, and speech therapy treatments with consideration for patient-specific treatment goals and precautions.

Maintain a safe treatment environment by following infection control, safety, and equipment maintenance protocols.

Communicates routinely with the supervisor and/or healthcare personnel as directed by therapists.

Discusses with the therapists of record to determine the scheduling needs of the residents as needed.

Transports, transfers, and prepares patients and equipment as directed by therapists.

Accurately completes and submits logs and other forms as directed by supervisor.

Directs clinical questions to supervising Therapist.

Reports timely to therapist or supervisor in the instance of an unusual occurrence.

Participates in denials management activities of the department to ensure that claims and/or appeals are timely and in accordance with company procedure.

Monitors and orders office and clinical supplies as needed.

Uses sound judgement and appropriate concern for safety of patients, self, and others.

Attends team meetings and rehab training programs as directed by supervisor.

Participates and conducts in-services, exercise, and other community-related programs.

Must maintain confidentiality of patients' information as well as company information.

Adheres to company dress code for assigned facilities and work environment Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with patients/residents, families, staff, and professional colleagues.

Qualification Education and/or Experience Must possess, as a minimum, A high school diploma or equivalent.

Language Skills Ability to read technical procedures.

Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, coworkers, families, and other healthcare professionals.

Mathematical Skills Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands The essential functions of this position require the ability to stand and walk frequently and sit occasionally, as well as occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to provide patient care and operate equipment.

The position requires the ability to reach, push, pull, lift, and manipulate objects and equipment, with exertion that may occasionally exceed 100 pounds, frequently exceed 50 pounds, or constantly exceed 20 pounds to safely move patients or equipment.

Effective communication, including talking and hearing, is required to interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

The ability to perceive and respond to environmental cues, including tactile, auditory, and visual information, is essential for safe and effective patient care.

Other essential functions include assisting, supporting, and transporting patients in accordance with safe patient handling practices.
