Provide behavioral health services including psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, and individual and group therapy within an integrated primary care setting. Coordinate admissions, conduct utilization reviews, and collaborate with community agencies and interdisciplinary teams.
The Behavioral Health Specialist- Non- Licensed works within an Integrated Model of Care designed to treat behavioral health patients utilizing a short-term therapy model within a primary care setting.
Essential Job Functions Accountable for the provision of social work/therapy services in collaboration within the Primary Care Offices as well as virtually or telephonically. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, individual therapy, admission coordination, utilization review, and the provision of liaison services within the community.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
Ongoing assessment, evaluation and treatment planning from admission to discharge. Demonstrates applicable knowledge of admission criteria, pre – certification and continued stay authorization process for all managed care companies.
Ability to successfully resolve denials and appeals.
Demonstrates effective verbal, nonverbal and written communication skills including documentation according to established standards while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Ability to develop professional relationships and collaboration with community agencies.
Provides effective one-to-one therapeutic interventions with patients and family, facilitates group therapy and provides appropriate therapeutic interventions.
Demonstrates knowledge of productivity standards and consistently maintains them.
Other duties as assigned.
