About the role

The provider will independently evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients specializing in endocrinology, obesity medicine, and allergy care. Key duties include managing diabetes, administering GLP-1 therapies, and overseeing hormone replacement and allergy immunotherapy.

Position Summary

The Endocrinology & Specialty Care Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive outpatient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders. The provider will collaborate with primary care providers and specialists to deliver individualized, evidence-based care while utilizing the latest clinical guidelines and technologies.

The ideal candidate is passionate about chronic disease management, patient education, preventive medicine, and improving long-term health outcomes.

Primary responsibilities

The selected provider will independently evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders within the scope of Nevada APRN practice.

Diabetes management

Evaluate and manage patients with

  • Type 1 Diabetes
  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • Prediabetes
  • Gestational Diabetes (when appropriate)
  • Insulin Resistance

Responsibilities

include:

  • Initiation and adjustment of insulin therapy
  • Oral diabetic medication management
  • GLP-1 receptor agonist therapy
  • SGLT-2 inhibitor management
  • Diabetes education
  • Prevention of diabetic complications
  • Individualized treatment planning
  • Long-term disease management

Continuous glucose monitoring (Cgm)

Manage and interpret Continuous Glucose Monitoring systems, including

Qualifications

  • Required
  • Active Nevada APRN License
  • National Board Certification (FNP, AGNP, Adult NP, or Adult-Gerontology NP)
  • Current DEA Registration (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and patient education skills
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

  • Experience in Endocrinology
  • Experience managing diabetes
  • Experience interpreting Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) data
  • Experience managing insulin pump therapy
  • Familiarity with ADA, AACE, and Endocrine Society clinical practice guidelines
  • Experience treating thyroid disorders and osteoporosis
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Requirements

Candidates must hold an active Nevada APRN license and national board certification as an FNP, AGNP, or Adult NP. Current DEA registration and BLS certification are also required.
