Responsibilities

• This position will be based in Dr.
• Trish Simner’s translational microbiology research lab, which focuses on antimicrobial resistance in bacteria.
• The candidate must be open to learning how to work with infectious microorganisms and follow appropriate biosafety practices.
• Perform various support functions in a research laboratory using appropriate procedures to minimize the risk of laboratory-acquired infection or sample contamination.
• Maintains and cleans laboratory equipment and facilities, restocks supplies, and maintains databases and records.
• Works under direct supervision.
• This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and flexibility in adapting to changing workloads.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Coursework in mathematics and relevant sciences preferred
• Previous work experience demonstrating organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask
• Requires manual dexterity, accurate data entry/typing skills, and effective communication skills
• Must be able to prioritize work and adapt to changing demands
• Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite is required, particularly Microsoft Excel Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee.
