About the role

The Clinical Associate Physician is responsible for examining, diagnosing, and treating patients within the Emergency Department. They must also ensure all patient documentation and billing forms meet departmental and regulatory compliance standards.

The Clinical Associate will primarily provide patient care services at the Emergency Department at UCI Health – Los Alamitos with the potential to work at other sites in the future. Clinical Associate is expected to comply with all compliance standards, complete all required trainings, and follow proper documentation process to meet the standards of the Compliance Office and Medicare regulations.

Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care

1. Examine, diagnose and provide treatment for Emergency Department patients.

2. Complete all necessary paperwork and patient documentation within departmental standards.

3. Complete patient encounter forms and meet the requirements outlined in the Professional Fee Billing (IL372) Compliance Plan

4. Maintain UCI Medical Staff Privileges, UCI Medical Group active membership

Schedule: 128 hours per month (1,536 hours per year)

Salary Range

$315,964 - $406,183 (depending on years of experience) with a potential for a year-end incentive Benefits eligible base salary compensation based on MSP level for a Clinical Associate Physician is $315,964 - $406,183. In addition, candidates have the potential to earn additional compensation through incentive eligibility on top of the base salary contingent on performance and experience.

Required

Must possess an MD, DO, or equivalent degree Board certification/board eligibility in Emergency Medicine Must Possess/ be eligible for an unrestricted CA Medical License California DEA registration Ability to work with minimal supervision Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work under pressure in a fluid, fast-paced work environment Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to problem solve objectively Experienced in providing and/or oversight of care.
