The Registered Nurse provides direct and indirect patient care in an outpatient setting, focusing on oncology and infusion services. Responsibilities include prioritizing care based on patient needs and coordinating with healthcare providers regarding patient status and diagnostic results.

About the Role

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of direct and indirect patient care in the health care setting. This provision of care is primarily in the outpatient setting and adjusted to the patient’s needs. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the following: 1. Practicing with a high level of autonomy and in accordance with standard professional expectations while providing care as demonstrated by displaying initiative, flexibility and responsibility. 2. Determining the priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as other factors that may influence patient flow through the health care system. 3. Communicating with health care providers and ancillary staff regarding changes in patient status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies in an accurate and timely manner. 4. Obtaining the required training to practice oncology nursing in accordance with organizational policies and procedures inclusive of preparation and administration of chemotherapeutic agents. 5. Knowledge relative to the ages of the patients served.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Registered nurse currently licensed to practice professional nursing by the Montana State Board of Nursing, in good standing. Two (2) years of experience working as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS and ACLS certification. Completion of Oncology Nurses Society Biotherapy Certification within six (6) months of hire.

Requirements

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school and hold a current Montana State Board of Nursing license with at least two years of RN experience. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and the completion of Oncology Nurses Society Biotherapy Certification within six months of hire.
