About the Role

The Fixed Term Limited XRT/MA is an hourly, full-time position within our X-Ray department, working in a fast-paced, high-volume clinic environment. In this hybrid role, you will perform both X-ray technologist and medical assistant duties, supporting providers and patients throughout the imaging and clinical care process. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging while also assisting with patient intake, clinical workflow, and general back-office support. Strong computer skills and working knowledge of OnePacs are essential, as is the ability to multitask, prioritize, and communicate clearly with patients and the care team.

What You'll Do Perform diagnostic X-ray imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders, departmental protocols, and safety standards Prepare patients for imaging exams by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort and safety Operate and troubleshoot X-ray equipment and related systems, including OnePacs, to capture, process, and transmit images Ensure accurate patient identification, proper positioning, and appropriate technique to produce high-quality images Review images for diagnostic quality and collaborate with radiologists and providers as needed for additional views or repeat imaging Maintain radiation safety practices and adhere to all regulatory and departmental policies and procedures Perform medical assistant duties including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and updating electronic health records Assist providers with examinations, minor procedures, and treatments as directed Prepare exam rooms and clinical areas, ensuring cleanliness, proper stocking, and readiness for patient care Support patient flow in a busy clinic by coordinating with front desk, nursing, and providers to minimize wait times Document all patient interactions, procedures, and observations accurately and in a timely manner in the electronic medical record Utilize computer systems, including scheduling, order entry, and imaging software, to support efficient operations Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, and the care team in a fast-paced environment Follow infection prevention, safety, and quality assurance protocols at all times Participate in ongoing training, process improvements, and team meetings to enhance clinic performance and patient experience

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of experience working as an X-ray Technologist, Medical Assistant, or in a combined XRT/MA role in a clinical or hospital setting Current certification or licensure as required for X-ray technologists in the applicable state/region (e.g., ARRT or equivalent), if applicable Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program and/or medical assistant program, or equivalent training and experience Demonstrated experience working effectively in a fast-paced, busy clinic or ambulatory care environment Proficiency with OnePacs or similar picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) Strong computer skills, including comfort with electronic health records, scheduling systems, and general office software Solid understanding of radiation safety, imaging protocols, and standard clinical practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care Strong organization, multitasking, and time-management abilities to handle competing priorities Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and adapt to changing workflows Attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance Physical ability to stand for extended periods, assist with patient positioning, and lift or move patients and equipment as required Fluency in English, both written and spoken

Requirements

Requires at least 3 years of experience as an X-ray Technologist or Medical Assistant and relevant certification or licensure. Must be proficient with OnePacs and possess strong computer skills for managing patient data.
