This position is located at our Freeport Medical Clinic.

Your responsibilities include the following

  • Perform routine diagnostic tests, medicaltreatmentsand procedures such as taking and recording temperatures, pulse,respirationand blood pressure; changing sterile dressings, giving irrigations and enemas; preparing patient and collecting specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Administering medication as directed by the physician.
  • Performs collection, documentation and processing of blood, specimen and/or urine samplesas ordered by the medical provider and/or current standing orders.
  • Assistswith the preparation of equipment and aids the physician/nurse practitioner during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
  • Observes, records, and reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatment to physicians/nurse practitioners.
  • Maintains thetimely flow of patients.
  • Greet patients and prepare them for examination by the physician or nurse practitioner. Screens patients forappropriate information.Instructs patientson sample collection and testing.
  • Arranges forpatientstesting and information.
  • Formulates and updates patient care plans. Orders, prepares, and inspects patients’ charts.Poststests and examination results.
  • Responsible for preparation of exam rooms including re-stocking of treatment areas.
  • Participates in CLIA and OSHA compliance and monitoring.
  • Participates in professional development activities andmaintainsprofessional affiliations.
  • Monitors emergency kit and oxygen tanks asrequired.
  • Monitors andmaintainssupplies and medication closet.
  • Assistin the completion of referrals, diagnostics, and other related tasksin a timely manner.
  • Maintains tracking,documentationandassistancein the completion of Uniform Data System (UDS), Healthcare Effectiveness Data and information set (HEDIS), and Care Gap Measures.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a Certified Medical Assistant
  • 6 months experienceof managing medical records, appointment scheduling,billingand coding
  • 6 monthsofusingElectronic Medical Record (EMR)experience
  • 6 monthsofassistingwith patient preparation, taking vital signs, phlebotomy, injections, and wound care

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of managing medical records, appointment scheduling,billingand coding
  • At least 1 year of using Electronic Medical Record experience

Requirements

Candidates must be a Certified Medical Assistant with at least 6 months of experience in EMR, medical billing, coding, and clinical tasks like phlebotomy and wound care. Preferred candidates possess one year of experience in these administrative and clinical areas.
