About the role

The therapist provides assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for individuals and families across various settings including homes and offices. Responsibilities include documenting services in electronic medical records and coordinating with referral sources.

The Outpatient Mental Health Therapist provides supportive assessment, treatment and resource development for individuals and families through the provision of services underwritten by insurance companies, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services counseling contracts, and/or community mental health authorities.

Essential Functions

Engage with children, adults and families, assisting them to improve their functioning.

Assess, provide a diagnosis, and devise practical intervention strategies.

Provide clinical interventions in settings including, but not limited to, homes, community settings, or office.

Provide services according to model expectation across multiple referral bases.

Interact with clients in non-traditional settings and during non-traditional hours.

Document services using an electronic medical record and/or other formats.

Represent Highfields and the clients served through interacting with referral sources.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, or directly related field.
  • State licensure commensurate with required degree (Consideration given if currently in process of obtaining or ability to obtain.).
  • One year or more experience in providing counseling services to children and families.
  • Valid driver's license.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a Master's degree in counseling or social work and a valid driver's license. A state license is required, and at least one year of experience providing counseling to children and families is necessary.
