About the role

The Cardiovascular Technician provides technical expertise and support within the Cardiac Cath Lab to ensure safe and effective procedures. They are responsible for operating specialized equipment and providing physicians with reliable data and results.

Highlights: Summary: The Cardiovascular Technician shall be responsible to work as a team member with other cardiac cath personnel, physicians, customers, and coworkers to provide the technical expertise necessary to perform procedures required in the Cardiac Cath Lab. This individual shall be responsible to provide a safe and meaningful service to the patient and physician. The Technician must be familiar with all the equipment involved in performing such duties, and ability to operate such equipment efficiently and accurately. This individual must have knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, hemodynamics, and sterile technique. The Cardiovascular Technician will be responsible to provide the physicians with reliable data and results at completion of the procedure. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role. Education / Experience:High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in Health Sciences preferred. In lieu of EMT certification, relevant experience shall be considered. License / Certification: EMT certification preferred, BLS required, ACLS required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Technical ability to learn aspects of the cardiac catheterization process.

Ability to work as a team member throughout the facility.

The ability to show compassion and sensitivity for patient comfort.

Ability to maintain a professional and customer centric composure in difficult or challenging situations.

Ability to effectively communicate with people of various backgrounds throughout the organization.

Ability to provide a positive customer service experience to guest, visitors, and patients.

Knowledge of HIPAA standards and regulations. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: Position requires sitting for 10% of the workday and mobility 90% of the workday. There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds. There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels. Much exposure to computer work. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock. Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation. Requirements

A high school diploma is required, while an associate degree in Health Sciences and EMT certification are preferred. Mandatory certifications include BLS and ACLS.
