Practice for this role

About the role

Perform and interpret high-quality diagnostic breast ultrasound examinations for participants in a clinical research study. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary research team to ensure data acquisition and reporting meet research-grade standards.

Mission Neko is redefining what prevention means, from treating illness when it arrives, to sustaining health before it's ever at risk.

Our mission: make data-driven, preventative care accessible to more people, before symptoms appear.

In a single, non-invasive visit under an hour, proprietary technology and direct clinical care combine to deliver personalised, actionable insights.

It's a team that thinks in 10x, not 10%.

Every role here plays a part in building a world where prevention is the norm, and where your work genuinely helps people live longer, healthier lives.

Role Purpose: We are looking for an experienced Breast Ultrasound Sonographer to join our clinical team in New York City and perform breast ultrasounds as part of a clinical research study.

This role delivers high-quality, independent assessments to research-grade standards.

You will perform and interpret breast ultrasound scans for participants enrolled in the study, producing timely results to a standardized electronic case report form.

You will work in conjunction with the study's principal investigator to ensure acquisition and reporting meet research-grade quality, working within the study acquisition SOP and Neko's escalation protocols.

What You'll Deliver in the First 6–12 Months: Perform high-quality diagnostic breast ultrasound examinations in line with clinical guidelines and best practice.

Pass the study-specific acquisition and interpretation qualification task before performing any study scans, with the certificate filed in the investigational site file.

Independently acquire, interpret, and report breast ultrasound findings, uploading timely results to a standardized electronic case report form.

Collaborate with the multidisciplinary research team to deliver Neko's clinical trial into breast cancer risk.

Adhere to the study acquisition SOP consistently.

Maintain and log equipment QA on-site, liaising directly with the study PI and research team where needed.

Minimum Requirements: ARDMS RDMS certification with the Breast (BR) specialty, or ARRT Breast Sonography certification (ARRT(BS)).

These are the two pathways the ACR recognizes for personnel performing breast ultrasound.

Documented, current breast ultrasound practice, with a minimum of two years' full-time-equivalent breast scanning.

Independent breast ultrasound scanning and structured reporting experience in an ACR-accredited breast imaging setting or an equivalent quality-assurance framework.

Strong communication skills, able to explain complex information clearly to study participants.

Commitment to high clinical standards and active engagement in ongoing professional development.

Eligible to work in the United States.

Preferred

Prior ultrasound scanning as part of clinical trials. Shear-wave elastography acquisition and reporting. Familiarity with the BI-RADS lexicon and structured reporting. Experience with Philips ultrasound machines and decision-support software. Familiarity with electronic case report form (eCRF) data entry for clinical research. About titles at Neko We use a simplified internal title framework that prioritises clarity over hierarchy, so internal titles may differ from market‑facing role titles. Scope, impact and level of the role are fully aligned and will be clearly discussed throughout the process. Hiring Process Candidates progress from application and structured screening through thoughtfully designed interviews culminating in a formal offer and final pre-employment checks before joining the team. Equal Opportunity & Inclusion Statement Neko Health is committed to inclusive hiring and member-first care. We welcome candidates from all backgrounds and encourage you to request reasonable adjustments to support your application.

Requirements

Requires ARDMS RDMS (BR) or ARRT(BS) certification and at least two years of full-time breast scanning experience. Candidates must have experience in an ACR-accredited setting and be eligible to work in the United States.
