At Red River Animal Emergency Hospital and Referral Center in Fargo, ND, we're searching for a passionate individual to join our Critical Care Team as a full- or part-time ER Veterinary Assistant.

What does your day entail?

You'll embrace the dynamic full- or part-time schedule of a true emergency hospital, working 3 - 4 shifts per week in a 24/7 environment.

Shifts may include weekends, holidays, and overnights, so flexibility is essential to support our mission of providing life-saving care around the clock.

As a full- or part-time ER Veterinary Assistant, you will collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and specialists to provide exceptional care for emergency and critical patients.

You will assist with physical exams, prepare supplies for treatments and procedures, and help with triaging and discharging patients.

You will ensure a comfortable and sanitary environment for all pets, communicate compassionately with clients both in person and over the phone, and help the team exceed expectations through remarkable care and communication.

Your day will also involve assisting during ultrasounds, minor procedures, and surgeries, maintaining accurate medical records, handling patients safely and effectively, sterilizing surgical instruments, processing shipments, and keeping the hospital stocked and organized.

You will play a key role in every aspect of patient care, from laboratory sample collection to supporting technicians during anesthesia and CPR.

Er veterinary assistant requirements
