About the role

Provides professional nursing care for patients in a 9-bed medical and surgical progressive care unit. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines and acts as the primary nurse for patients requiring specialized medical interventions.

Full-time Night: 72 hours bi-weekly

7pm to 7: 30m

Every 3rd weekend

Rotating holidays

Night and weekend differential

Wellspan Ephrata’s Progressive Care Unit is a 9-bed unit providing care to patients requiring medical and surgical progressive care. Our patient population consists of patients with acute lung disease processes requiring BiPAP; those with atrial arrythmias needing IV anti-arrhythmic medications; DKA patients on insulin drips; post VATS patients needing chest tube management; alcohol withdraw patients on Precedex drips; and post PCI patients. Our PCU team is a close-knit, cohesive team who are passionately committed to promoting a positive work environment and providing excellent care to our community!

General Summary

Provides professional nursing care at the beginner practitioner level in accordance with the principles of patient and family-centered care based on the nursing process and according to the clinical standards of the hospital. Acts as a primary nurse for patients on the unit. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. May require specialized skills depending on unit assignment.

Requirements

Requires a nursing diploma or associate degree, with a bachelor's degree preferred. Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license and Basic Life Support certification, along with experience in Progressive Care IMCU.
