About the role

Collaborate with medical teams to execute patient care plans, including managing ventilator and Bipap support. Perform diagnostic tests such as EKGs, blood gas analysis, and pulmonary function testing.

Respiratory Therapist - PRN

Forrest City Medical Center is your community medical provider, serving Eastern Arkansas and its residents with physical therapy, radiology imaging, women’s center and senior care. Forrest City Medical Center is a118 bed Acute Care facility located 40 minutes west of Memphis, TN and less than 90 miles for Little Rock, AR.

Job Summary

Collaborate with other team members of the medical team to define and execute best plan of care for a patient.

Set up, manage, and maintain ventilator support for patients.

Set up, manage, and maintain Bipap support for patients.

Set up, manage, and maintain low flow and high flow systems.

Draw, analyze, and interpret blood gases.

Assist in intubations.

Administer aerosol treatments.

Suction patients, as needed.

Perform EKG's.

CPT therapy.

Walking Oxygen test.

Set up and educate patient on Incentive Spirometry.

Additionally, for day shift, RT's will also

Administer Pulmonary Function Testing.

Administer Stress Testing.

Perform EKG's on walk-in pts.

Perform walk - in ABG's.

Set up and apply Holter Monitors.

Administer sputum inductions.

Qualifications

  • Active license through the state of Arkansas.
  • NBRC (National Board of Respiratory Care) credential required.
  • RRT preferred.
  • Utilize professional judgement and rely on experience to execute the best level of care.
  • BLS certification upon hire.
  • ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.
  • PALS certification within 90 days of hire.
  • NRP certification within one year of hire.

Requirements

Requires an active Arkansas state license, NBRC credentials, and BLS certification upon hire. ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications must be obtained within specific timeframes following employment.
