About the program: Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST)

Come join a collaborative team that strengthens the relationships of teens and their families and promotes long-term change.

MST is an in-home family therapy model for teens struggling with at-risk behaviors, such as substance use, family conflict, or school problems. MST works with the teen’s entire social support system (individual, family, peer, school, community) to improve behaviors and strengthen family relationships.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides assessment and treatment interventions consistent with fidelity to MST model.
  • Performs home and community-based care.
  • Documents ongoing client progress and outcomes.
  • Works with clients to develop appropriate discharge plans utilizing natural support.
  • Maintains collaborative relationships with family members, stakeholders, and other service providers.
  • Provides crisis assessment and intervention.
  • When appropriate facilitates drug testing
  • Participates in all MST training, supervision, and consultation activities.

Qualifications

Education

Master’s degree in mental health related field.

Experience

Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and experience as a psychotherapist working with people with mental illness and/or serious emotional disorders. Demonstrated training and experience in all aspects of mental health treatment, assessment, evaluation and provision of individual, group and family therapy. Relevant experience to program model to which individual is assigned. Prior training in MST preferred

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Associate license as an LMSW, LMFTA, LPCA per the State of CT rules, LCSW, LMFT, LPC preferred.

Compensation*

$61,252.26 minimum, dependent upon experience

*Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based off of relevant experience, as well as adherence to our internal equity policy. Many of our positions offer program/location differentials and/or sign-on incentives. (Please note, for part-time positions this range would be pro-rated based on hours worked)

Requirements

Requires a Master's degree in a mental health-related field and an associate or preferred full license (LMSW, LMFTA, LPCA, LCSW, LMFT, or LPC) in Connecticut. Candidates must have demonstrated experience in psychotherapy and working with serious emotional disorders.
