About the role

The Nurse Practitioner will assist hospitalists with inpatient evaluations, history and physical examinations, and follow-up visits. Responsibilities include initiating treatment for medical illnesses and documenting patient care using EMR systems.

NIGHT SHIFT HOSPITALIST ACUTE CARE NURSE PRACTITIONER OPENING Plano, TEXAS Texas Health Physicians Group is pleased to announce a Nurse Practitioner, Hospitalist opening for a full-time opportunity in Plano, TX. Work schedule is 7PM to 7AM, 7 days on, 7 days off. Expand your career by working closely with a successful group of hospitalists evaluating, diagnosing and treating a variety of patients.

Position Details

Ø Assist Hospitalists with inpatient evaluations, H&P’s & follow-up visits. Ø Initiate appropriate treatment & testing for medical illnesses. Ø Complete history and physical examinations on all new admissions Ø Round on rehabilitation patients including long term acute care patients Ø Document using EMR system. Ø Participate in continuous quality improvement processes. IF YOU: Ø Active listening, critical thinking, reading comprehension, effective communication, time management, judgement and decision making Ø Texas licensed Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Ø ACLS certification Ø 2 years of NP or RN experience in ICU/CVICU preferred.

The Nurse Practitioner (“NP”) Must be a graduate of an accredited Advanced Nursing Program and have a current RN license for the State of Texas. Certified Advanced Nurse Practitioner in the State of Texas. The NP will report to the supervising physician and/or the Medical Director and will be responsible for meeting CME requirements to maintain certification and licensure. The NP’s duties and responsibilities apply to the THPG patient population and assigned setting only

Requirements

Candidates must be a Texas licensed Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with ACLS certification and a degree from an accredited Advanced Nursing Program. Two years of experience in ICU or CVICU is preferred.
