  • OVERVIEW: The Physical Therapist Assistant performs treatment and provides exercise instruction and patient education aimed at improving/enhancing the patient's well-being while following the established plan of care.
  • A few position highlights include: Provide services in accordance with laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care, follow the treatment set only as defined by the supervising PT, perform only those procedures that he/she is qualified and trained to perform, and make all recommendations for changes in the plan of care to the supervising PT. Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, functional, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training. Observe, record, and reports to the supervising PT, the nurse supervisor, and/or the physician the patient's response to treatment and changes in the patient's condition. Coordinate care with the other members of the healthcare team as appropriate.

  • HAVES: Current PTA license in the state where services are rendered. Current CPR certification, driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation. Must be able to reliably commute to multiple patient residences daily within the geographic area assigned.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a current PTA license in the state of service and a current CPR certification. A valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and a dependable vehicle for daily travel to patient homes are required.
