The COTA will treat a wide range of upper extremity conditions and optimize patients' functional abilities under the direction of a licensed occupational therapist. Responsibilities include educating clients on task approaches and maintaining high-quality documentation and compliance standards.
Under the direction of the licensed occupational therapist, optimize the functional abilities and skills of patients. Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components Ensure delivery of high-quality patient care services. Observe, note, and report on the progress of long and short-term treatment goals Ensure proper documentation of patient care. Maintain professional standards through compliance with quality assurance policies/ procedures as well as applicable regulations and corporate policies
Must be a graduate of an ACOTA accredited occupational therapy assistant (OTA) program National registration and state COTA licensure or registration REQUIRED Must have 1 year current working experience with hand therapy patients. In lieu of experience, new grad COTAs with fieldwork in hand therapy with Select Medical would be eligible.
