About the role

Lead and manage all aspects of rehabilitation care for patients in the inpatient Burn Unit and acute care settings. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to align treatment goals and optimize patient outcomes through individualized plans of care.

You'll guide patients through their rehabilitation journey, whether they are recovering from neurological conditions, illness, injury, or physical trauma. Along the way, you'll encourage, support, and prepare them for success while collaborating with physicians, nurses, case managers, and families to deliver coordinated, high-quality care. This Burn Physical Therapist position is primarily for the inpatient Burn Unit, with occasional floating to acute once burn responsibilities are completed. And while you focus on helping patients achieve extraordinary progress, we'll focus on providing the tools, support, and opportunities you need to grow your expertise and make an even greater impact. 🎯 Your Everyday Impact

Lead, prioritize, coordinate, and manage all aspects of rehabilitation care for your patients.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to align treatment goals and optimize patient outcomes.

Deliver therapy services consistent with each patient's individualized plan of care.

Maintain a safe, supportive environment for patients, families, visitors, and staff.

Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, progress, and discharge recommendations.

Communicate significant changes in patient condition and coordinate care across the rehabilitation team.

Reassess patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed based on clinical findings and regulatory guidelines.

Provide direction and support to ancillary staff while fostering a collaborative team environment.

Accurately document evaluations, interventions, patient progress, and outcomes.

Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to program excellence.

Perform age-appropriate evaluations and uphold accreditation and regulatory standards. 📈 Excellence in Practice

Maintain accurate productivity, billing, and clinical documentation.

Participate in Quality Management and Performance Improvement initiatives.

Support compliance with accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.

Serve as a clinical resource for colleagues, leadership, and interdisciplinary team members. 🤝 Collaboration & Leadership

Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and team members to support optimal outcomes.

Participate in team conferences, department meetings, and organizational initiatives.

Provide guidance and mentorship to both new and experienced staff members.

Assume lead therapist responsibilities when assigned. ✅ What You'll Need

Current Louisiana Physical Therapist License with State of Louisiana Physical Therapy Board.

Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire). 🌱 Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a rehabilitation or similar clinical setting.

Certifications in specialty areas such as Manual Therapy, Dry Needling, Vestibular Rehabilitation, or Women's Health.

Requirements

Requires a current Louisiana Physical Therapist License and BLS certification. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification is required or must be obtained upon hire.
