About the role

The Outpatient Therapist supports the daily operations of Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient programs. Key duties include conducting assessments, providing individual and group therapy, and managing discharge planning and utilization reviews.

Responsibilities

  • We are looking for PRN Therapists for our Oupatient Department.
  • Hickory Trail Hospital (a UHS facility): Hickory Trail Hospital, a 86-bed behavioral health facility located just south of Dallas, has been providing quality health care to the residents of DFW since 1988.
  • Hickory Trail Hospital provides inpatient and day treatment for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults.
  • Our professional staff individualizes care to uniquely fit the intensity and severity of each client's case and their family's needs.
  • Because crisis occurs at all times of the day and night, our services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Our Outpatient program (“Better Days” Day Hospital PHP/IOP) offers treatment for adolescents and adults Monday - Friday.
  • Better Days has earned exceptionally high client satisfaction scores, as we have compassionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated therapists who take pride in their work and focus on assisting clients in successfully reaching their goals.

Position Summary

The Outpatient Therapist is responsible for providing support to the day-to-day operations of the Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient programs including, but not limited to administrative functions, utilization review, assessment, discharge planning, group/individual therapy, case management, and other duties related to delivering a successful program.

Qualifications

Education

Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field.

Experience

One (1) year experience in a psychiatric, behavioral health hospital setting preferred. Outpatient experience highly preferred. Experience may be obtained as an intern.

License

  • Must possess a state licensure: LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LPC-I, LMFT. (LCSW supervision available)

  • Requirements: CPR certification and CPI (management of aggressive behavior training). These certifications will be offered during New Hire Orientation if applicant does not currently hold. Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Social Work or a clinical mental health field and possess a state license such as LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LPC-I, or LMFT. One year of experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting is preferred.
