About the role

Job Summary

  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, safe patient environment and assists with patient care activities such as taking vital signs, and assessment. Collaborates with the healthcare team and provides compassionate and empathic family-centered care for the patients and families. Works under the supervision of a RN and in accordance with the hospital policies and procedures.

  • CPR: American Heart Healthcare Provider – must maintain active and in good standing throughout employment

Essential Job Duties

  • Patient
  • Support functions: Provides support with vitals, assessments and informs RN of significant changes; assists patients with activities of daily living to include, personal hygiene, nutrition & comfort measure. Reviews assignments and ensure room setups, ensures clean environment and maintains patient rooms and nursing station at all times. Assists with transporting patients for special procedures and completes transport of patient during discharge process. Greets and welcomes patients, families and visitors; provides encouragement and comfort. Communicates MCHS services and delivers excellent and timely service and support.

  • Safety: Restocks supplies such as gloves, gowns, linen, medical equipment; assists with room preparation and turnover. Proactively identifies opportunities for improvement and promotes/practices cost containment. Performs other assigned tasks to promote efficient practice operation and contributes to the provision of quality patient care. Ensures clean environment and maintains patient rooms and nursing station at all times.

  • Duties: Maintains accountability to ensure compliance thru timely completion of licensures, certs, competencies, health requirements (PPD, N95, Flu), initial competencies & education requirements. Maintains accountability by meeting service excellence index (SEI) standards and complying with attendance guidelines and procedures. Ensures behavior is compliant with communication standards. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities High school education or equivalent preferred. Experience in a healthcare environment is preferred. Computer literate, experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferred Strong problem solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborates in a team environment. Strong time management skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively work in a collaborative environment and follow the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Nursing Leader. Ability to apply principles of evidenced-based practice, analytical thinking and service excellence in practice.

Requirements

Requires an active C.N.A. certification in Florida and American Heart Healthcare Provider CPR certification. High school education and experience in a healthcare environment are preferred.
