Job Overview Within the regulatory scope of practice, the medical assistant III assists in the provision of direct patient care by performing routine patient care procedures and technical and clerical supportive services in the clinic setting.
The Medical Assistant III may administer intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal injections, perform skin tests, administer oral medication, perform venipunctures, and perform skin punctures for blood specimens.
Minimum Requirements High School graduate or GED, along with a Medical Assistant diploma, is required.
A California phlebotomist license is preferred.
Minimum of 4 years of experience, preferred Minimum of 1 year of experience working with a frail or elderly population is preferred.
Bilingual preferred.
A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.
