Auburn Animal Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician with several years of hands-on clinical experience to join our one-doctor practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinary professional who enjoys being involved in every stage of patient care—from diagnostics and treatment through surgery and recovery. Our close-knit team is committed to delivering thoughtful, high-quality medicine while creating a supportive and professional experience for every client and patient. Licensed and certified candidates will receive priority consideration, but experienced non-credentialed Veterinary Technicians are also encouraged to apply. Why Our Veterinary Technicians Love It Here Enjoy a consistent four-day Tuesday–Friday work week Keep your nights and weekends free Join a small, one-doctor practice with a close-knit team Use a wide range of technical skills every day Build meaningful relationships with clients and their pets Work in a fun-loving yet professional hospital environment Practice high-quality medicine with a strong focus on compassionate patient care Be part of a workplace where your experience, ideas, and contributions are valued Receive support for continued learning and professional development What Our Veterinary Technicians Do Assist the veterinarian during examinations, treatments, and medical procedures Administer vaccines and medications as directed Perform venipuncture and collect laboratory samples Complete in-house laboratory testing and support diagnostic procedures Position patients and obtain diagnostic radiographs Prepare patients, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures Assist during surgery and monitor patients under anesthesia Support patients throughout recovery and provide attentive nursing care Perform pharmacy duties and accurately prepare prescribed medications Maintain complete and accurate patient medical records Communicate clearly with clients about treatments, medications, and follow-up care Reinforce veterinarian-approved instructions and client education Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment and surgical areas Collaborate with the veterinarian and support team to keep the hospital running efficiently What Our Veterinary Technicians Bring Several years of hands-on Veterinary Technician experience in a clinical setting Strong knowledge of vaccines, anesthesia, diagnostics, and patient care Confidence with venipuncture, laboratory procedures, radiology, and pharmacy duties Experience assisting with surgery and monitoring anesthetized patients An LVT or CVT credential is preferred but not required Excellent customer service and communication skills A compassionate and patient approach to animal handling and care Strong attention to detail and dependable work habits The ability to remain organized and professional in a busy hospital environment A collaborative, team-first attitude The flexibility to assist wherever needed A commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and client service The Extras You'll Actually Feel At Auburn Animal Center, work-life balance isn't just something we talk about.
