Performs patient care activities and clerical functions to support Emergency Department clinical operations under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Responsible for the review, completion, and filing of medical records and participating in unit improvement activities.
Under the direction of a qualified Registered Nurse, performs various patient care activities and related clerical functions that support the clinical operations of the Emergency Department. Provides technical support and participates in unit activities as a team member. Participates in unit, departmental, and organizational improvement activities as assigned. Responsible for review, completion and terminal filing of ED records.
Ability to organize, plan and accomplish assignments under supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse.
Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and oral), and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner.
Computer literacy required with word processing
Preferred:
Experience with Microsoft Office products and electronic medical record, Meditech.
Excel and spreadsheets.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of acute care experience in a hospital setting. Must obtain BLS and CPI certifications and possess strong computer literacy and communication skills.
