  • Description: The Surgical Technician / Operating (OR) Tech (uncertified, certified, unlicensed, or licensed) works in a collaborative environment at St Mary within Surgical Services to provide safe, quality health care services & / or assistance to patients under the supervision & direction of a registered nurse or other designated health care professional in accordance with level of experience, education, policies & procedures. Must have additional training through the achievement of in-house certifications or have successful completion of role specific certification or licensing.

Engages in therapeutic communication and assists nurses & designated health care professional in keeping detailed records, maintaining clear communication between the entire care team & working with patients & families. May serve as a resource (lead), role model & / or mentor.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in high school, completing a GED, or obtained a high school diploma or GED. Specialty license, certification, training, or experience according to assignment area in the applicable state(s) of engagement.
