General Purpose

In order to ensure quality healthcare dental services, the Dentist provides general dental services to patients. The dentist position is under the general direction and supervision of the Director of Oral Health or Associate Director of Oral Health.

Essential Duties/Position Responsibilities

  • Provides oral health treatment including mandated care (prevention, emergency care, risk assessment), expected care (elimination of disease through extraction, restoration, endodontics), and optional care (removable and fixed partial dentures) as part of the approved scope of service. Evaluates dental radiographs and charts for accurate diagnostic findings and assessment. Reviews patient health history and charts existing oral conditions, findings, and assessment/plan into EHR system. Develops sequenced treatment plan for patients. Arranges referrals and consultations to patients as needed. Collaborate with medical and behavioral providers in order to coordinate appropriate care for medically compromised patients. Directly supervises rotating dental students in the dental clinics for quality outcome. Reviews prosthodontic dental lab cases with dental lab technician to coordinate appropriate treatment for patients.

Education and Experience

  • Required
  • Qualifications: Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school. Active license to practice dentistry in the State of Colorado, or ability to obtain licensure prior to start date. DEA registration or ability to obtain DEA registration prior to start date. Current BLS and CPR certification, or ability to obtain prior to start date. Experience using an Electronic Dental Record (EDR) system.

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of a General Practice Residency (GPR) or Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency program. Previous experience practicing in a community health center, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), or similar public health setting. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

  • Ability to work independently and organize work in a manner that ensures accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize data to determine the appropriate program.
  • Able to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, creativity to changing needs and situations.
  • Ability to demonstrate the capability to effectively and sensitively respond to the needs and concerns of the full range of STRIDEs diverse patient population.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information ethically and responsibly.
  • Ability to protect the confidentiality of patient, employee and business information.
  • Past medical dental integration experiences or willingness to work with medical providers for delivery of optimal care.

We offer a competitive salary range of $148,409 – 168,207, depending on your experience. This range reflects STRIDE’s good faith estimate of potential compensation at the time of posting. The final salary for the selected candidate will be determined based on several factors, including experience, education, budget, internal equity, specialty, and training.
