Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Administer medications as authorized under AMAP guidelines.
  • Promote independence, dignity, and community integration.
  • Document services and daily progress accurately.
  • Support behavioral intervention plans using SCIP techniques.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Transport individuals to appointments and community activities, if required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current AMAP (Approved Medication Administration Personnel) Certification required.
  • Current SCIP (Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention) Certification required.
  • Previous DSP, HHA, CNA, or related healthcare experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must pass all required background screening and pre-employment requirements.
