Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Regional Float - Emergency Nurse, you will help healthcare consumers by providing essential nursing care in emergency situations so they can receive prompt and effective treatment across various campuses.

Every day you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care following the nursing process.

You will be expected to maintain a safe and collaborative environment while demonstrating personal and professional responsibility for ongoing development.

To be successful in this role, you must possess at least two years of recent Emergency Room experience, holding current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, with the ability to travel to multiple facilities on short notice.

Follow the nursing process which includes: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate.

The nursing process is an ongoing process that can end at any stage.

Assessment - Demonstrates a systematic, dynamic way to collect and analyze the following healthcare consumer data including: psychological, physiological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic and lifestyle factors Plan – Sets measurable and achievable short and long term goals according to standards of care based on the assessment by the nurse in collaboration with the healthcare consumer and multidisciplinary team.

Implement – Implements and/or modifies the plan of care using assessment data, clinical reasoning based upon standards of care and evidence based practice.

This includes care coordination, education and discharge planning.

The nurse is accountable for the care directly, indirectly or through delegation.

Professional and legal standards for delegation must be followed.

Evaluate – Uses a systematic ongoing process to evaluate progress towards identified healthcare consumer goals.

Revision of plan of care when needed involving the healthcare consumer and the multidisciplinary team.

Documents all phases of the nursing process in the healthcare consumer’s record.

Your experience will be rewarded with 25% premium differentials, in addition to standard night and weekend pay.

Job Requirements Graduate of an RN nursing program.

Active RN licensure in the state of Nebraska, Iowa, or nurse licensure compact.

BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), within 6 months of hire, TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course), within 12 months of hire, ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course, within 18 months of hire, Other credentials may be needed based on the level of care RN floats to.

Ability to travel to multiple metro facilities as needed on short notice.

2 years of recent ED experience Preferred: Bachelors of Science in Nursing

Requirements

Must have completed a Nursing Assistant Program, hold an Oregon CNA License, and obtain AHA BLS within 30 days. A high school diploma and prior hospital experience are preferred.
