About the role

Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Cardiology Department. Responsibilities include pre-procedural preparation, intra-procedural support during sedation, and post-procedural recovery.

Utilizes the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide safe and therapeutic patient care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams, carrying out established nursing procedures and performing related duties as required. Provides care for patients with complex needs under appropriate guidance and assists in the management of care delivered by other members of the nursing team.

The Registered Nurse (RN) functions as part of the interdisciplinary team caring for patients undergoing procedures or examinations in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (CCL) and/or Cardiology Department across all sites. Responsibilities include preparing patients prior to radiologic procedures, supporting care during procedures, and providing post-procedural care. The RN also assists in the management of patient care during moderate sedation and anesthesia cases.

This role requires a dedicated professional committed to delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to orient and work across all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Requirements

Requires a California RN license, ACLS/CPR certifications, and at least 5 years of clinical nursing experience including critical care and Cath Lab experience. An associate degree is required, while a BSN and RCIS/RCES certifications are preferred.
