Salary Range

$24.75 - $29.54 per hour The pay range above represents the lowest possible rate for the position and the highest possible rate. Factors that may be used to determine where newly hired employees will be placed in the pay range include the employee specific skills and qualifications, relevant years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Responsibilities

Position Overview: The Sterile Processing Tech provides professional sterilization and decontamination services to all patient care departments that require reprocessing of instruments and equipment.

Qualifications

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) One (1) year prior work experience Preferred: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Cleaning and Decontamination Procedures - Demonstrates proper procedures for cleaning, decontaminating, and disassembly of instruments and equipment. Instrument Knowledge - Inspection, assembly, care and knowledge of instruments and instrument sets. Sterilizer Documentation - Records sterilization logs completely and accurately which includes mechanical printouts, lot labels and all testing procedures performed. Equipment Operation - Demonstrates proper procedures and knowledge for operating the sterilizers and instrument washers within the guidelines of the manufacturers. Sterilization Preparation - Able to prepare instruments and instrument trays for sterilization following procedures for wrapping, peel packaging, containers and labeling accordingly. Performs routine testing procedures for sterilizers and washers and maintains accurate test records and logs. Maintains a clean and orderly work area in the sterile processing department at all times. Provides response to phone calls and requests. Provides lot labels on all items sterilized for tracking/recall. Conscientious in duties, proper dress code attire and in following policy and procedures which relate within guidelines of Standard Precautions. Understands infection control principles and applies to work tasks. Assists with inventory control. Participates in and supports the Performance Improvement process.
