About the role

The Mental Health Technician provides direct care and supervision to patients ranging from adolescents to geriatrics under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Key duties include implementing therapeutic interventions, conducting safety checks, and maintaining appropriate patient boundaries.

Position Summary

  • The Mental Health Technician (MHT), under the direction of a Registered Nurse, is an active member of the patient treatment team and will provide care to patients whose ages range from adolescent through geriatrics. The MHT implements the therapeutic interventions developed by the treatment team for each patient and maintains awareness of patient’s individualized plan of care (including goals and interventions). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provides direct care and supervision to patients on assigned unit. Monitors and intervenes to maintain appropriate patient boundaries. Conduct patient safety checks. Available Schedules Full-time Day and Night
  • *Full-time MHTs will be scheduled 7 shifts in a two-week period with alternating weekend days, rotating holidays, and are part of an emergency team.

Day

  • 7:00am to 7:30pm
  • Night: 7:00pm to 7:30am

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

  • Minimum of one year of healthcare or behavioral health related experience and/or training preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and at least one year of healthcare or behavioral health experience is preferred. CPR/CPI certification is required and will be provided upon hire.
