Summary: Phoebe NICU is a Level III Provider of Newborn Services. The birth of a baby is typically a joyous occasion, but when that baby is born too early or very sick, it can be a very frightening experience for the family. The NICU nurses, NNPs, neonatologists and staff at Phoebe's NICU understand how traumatic it can be, To help make it easier, they work with family members to help them understand what is happening and how they can be involved in the care of their infant. In this role, you will provide comprehensive neonatal patient management, clinical decision-making, procedural care, and family education in partnership with neonatologists and interdisciplinary providers. Phoebe’s Level III NICU provides advanced, specialized care for premature and critically ill newborns across Southwest Georgia. Our multidisciplinary team of neonatologists, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, and experienced NICU nurses is committed to delivering high-acuity, evidence-based care while supporting families during some of their most vulnerable moments.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Master's Degree in Nursing (Required) EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 4+ years experience in supervision and independent decision making in major nursing areas (Preferred) CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURES Required Certifications/Licensures: Nurse Practitioners Certification (NP-C), AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), (ACLS), (PALS) and Department Specific Certifications may be required Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Certification (NNP) GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs) Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time. Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs. For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills. Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.

Requirements

Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification. Preferred candidates have 4+ years of experience in supervision and independent decision-making within major nursing areas.
