The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders to improve patient quality of life. This includes implementing individualized treatment plans and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams during hospital rounds.

Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Speech Language Pathologist, you will be a vital clinician, expertly assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders to significantly improve patient quality of life.Every day, you will conduct comprehensive evaluations for all referred patients, meticulously implementing individualized treatment plans.

You'll contribute clinical expertise to develop/upgrade treatment programs/protocols, and actively shape departmental and organizational goals.To be successful in this role, you will possess advanced clinical knowledge, exceptional diagnostic/therapeutic skills, and a compassionate, patient-centered approach.

Evaluates/assesses patients in a systematic and thorough manner; establishes appropriate treatment plans and goals within specified time frames; administers appropriate treatments to patients; demonstrates knowledge and skill in the use of therapeutic interventions for speech, language, cognition, and swallowing for patients of all ages.

Instructs and supervises patient care of rehabilitation technicians and student affiliates in a respectful, courteous and consistent manner.

Maintains timely and accurate medical records; records legibly in patient charts; completes reports in an organized, thorough and timely manner.

Fosters communication with patients and families, other therapists, physicians, nurses, volunteers, and other hospital personnel to achieve goals and establish department support; attends and provides quality input during multidisciplinary rounds and departmental meetings.

Provides patient and family education; includes information on outside resources to meet the patient's specific needs.

Promotes health care outcomes in concert with currently accepted clinical practice guidelines and established clinical pathways.

Identifies poor outcomes/data for referral for performance improvement.

Job Requirements Required Masters Other Major in Communication Sciences and Disorders or other related field Speech Language Pathologist: TX, upon hire Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field and possess a valid Texas SLP license. Basic Life Support (CPR) certification is required within 14 days of hire.
