  • Overview: Provides mental health services and standardize testing to pediatrics from 0-3 years old and their families within this pediatric clinic. These services require autonomous decision making, assessment, treatment planning, interventions, discharge planning and internal and external community resource coordination. Performs other duties as assigned, including consultation with other clinical staff and supervision with psychology interns/post doctorates.

Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento is the foundation of Sutter Health, Northern California's largest health network with 29 acute care hospitals, more than 5,000 primary care physicians and specialists, home health, occupational health, psychiatric care and more. The downtown Sacramento Medical Center is made up of several facilities that include Ose Adams Medical Pavilion, Anderson Lucchetti Women's & Children's Center, and Sutter Center for Psychiatry.

Ose Adams Medical Pavilion The 281-bed specialty medical center focuses on general acute medical/surgical care as well as a medical base to advanced services for cancer, orthopedics, spine, and neurology, and neurosurgery.

Anderson Lucchetti Women's & Children's Center The 242-bed specialty medical center focuses on women's and children's specialty services and includes medical intensive care units for cardiac and neurological patients.

Job Description

Education

PHd or PsyD in Psychology from an accredited institution.

Certification & licensure

PSY-Psychologist licensed in the state of practice. CCS-California Children Services Paneled (or Paneled Eligible) Preferred

Skills and knowledge

  • Knowledge of human development, psychological treatment, and intervention modalities with children, adolescents and adults. Knowledge of psychosocial factors relevant to mental health, such as personality, human growth and development; interpersonal relationships; group process; family dynamics; community integration and socioeconomic resource provisions, including the relevance of these factors for personal change in treatment. Knowledge of and adherence to American Psychological Association ethical standards. Knowledge of the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, and psychotherapeutic modalities and interventions, including psychotropic medications. Ability to effectively work with a wide range of psychiatric treatment problems of children, adolescents, adults and their families. Ability to cooperatively work as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team. Ability to make sound clinical decisions regarding assessing patient's acuity and appropriate dispositions.

Pay Range is $56.46 to $84.69 / hour The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

Requires a PhD or PsyD in Psychology and a valid state psychologist license. Preference is given to candidates who are California Children Services Paneled or eligible.
