The Cardiac APC provides comprehensive inpatient care, including pre- and post-procedure evaluations and triage of urgent cardiac patients. They collaborate with on-site cardiologists and the hospitalist team to manage discharges and transition of care clinics.
Our cardiac program is supported by approximately 20 cardiologists and 3 cardiothoracic surgeons.
Work collaboratively under the supervision of on-site cardiologists Follow a 7 days on/7 days off Provide comprehensive inpatient cardiac care, including: Pre-procedure evaluations Post-procedure evaluations Managing cardiac discharges and coordinating with the hospitalist team Follow-up inpatient assessments Evaluating new inpatient or Emergency Department consults Triage of urgent and emergent cardiac patients Participation in the post-cardiac-discharge Transition of Care Clinic
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Master's: Nursing CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE NP-California Nurse Practitioner by California Department of Consumer Affairs NP-F - Nurse Practitioner Furnishing RN-California Registered Nurse BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Certification required based on the department requirements TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 5 years of recent relevant experience. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Demonstrated general knowledge and competence with regard to advanced nursing theories, concepts and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology. Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations. Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people. Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), Electronic Health Record. Prioritize and delegate assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines. Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions. Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options. Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI). Build collaborate relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives. Pay Range is $163,704.32 to $237,352.96 / annual salary The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled.
