Administers general, regional, and monitored anesthesia for surgical and obstetrical procedures under medical direction. Monitors patient vital signs and manages anesthesia equipment and medications to ensure patient safety.
Administers general, regional anesthetics or Monitored Anesthesia Care during surgical and/or obstetrical procedures under the medical direction of an attending Anesthesiologist. Evaluates situations and informs attending Anesthesiologist of patient's condition; recommends anesthetics to be used; techniques of administration and supportive measures necessary for approval by attending physician as required by departmental guidelines. Checks anesthesia machine and monitoring equipment, supplies, medication and anesthesia gases. Monitors and records the patient's vital signs, records all medication administered to the patient and related reaction and responses.
Education High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Bachelor's Degree Nursing Required Master's Degree Nursing Preferred
Experience 2 years experience in an academic medical center OR as a CRNA. Preferred
Licenses PA Registered Nurse License Required Cert Registered Nurse Anesth Required Basic Life Support Required Advanced Cardiac Life Support Required Multi State Compact RN License Required Or
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a Registered Nurse license, with a Master's degree preferred. Must hold CRNA certification and be current in BLS and ACLS.
