About the role

Provide psycho-social rehabilitation and mentoring services to consumers to help them achieve individualized goals. Work collaboratively with the Treatment Team to support individuals with mental disabilities and those experiencing homelessness.

Established in 1970, Boley Centers, Inc., is a private, non-profit organization serving individuals with mental disabilities, individuals and families who are homeless, Veterans and youth in Pinellas County. Boley Centers, Inc., a nationally recognized and accredited behavioral health care agency, has an opening for a full-time Supported Housing Peer Specialist to work with the Treatment Team to provide psycho-social rehabilitation services to consumers and mentor services to consumers to assist with achievement of individualized goals.

Education and experience

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalency.
  • Six months of responsible work experience, preferably involving interactions with the public.
  • Knowledge of Recovery Model, counseling techniques, verbal crisis intervention and mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders.

Special requirements

  • Valid Florida driver's license required. This position requires meeting the eligibility requirements of the Agency's vehicle insurance carrier when driving an Agency vehicle or a personal vehicle transporting consumers. Own transportation vehicle and insurance preferred.
  • Must be a consumer of mental health services as defined by the Agency.
