About the Role

The Physical Therapist provides a full range of physical therapy services, including evaluation, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions, in an interdisciplinary environment. This role supports patient recovery and functional independence while contributing to program development, quality improvement, productivity, and patient satisfaction in accordance with professional standards and MRHC policies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of an APTA-approved physical therapy program.
  • Current Physical Therapist license in the State of Oklahoma.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Ability to practice in accordance with professional, ethical, and legal standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with adult and geriatric populations.
  • Prior experience in a hospital, outpatient, or rehabilitation setting.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate physical abilities, limitations, and rehabilitation needs.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans focusing on orthopedic rehabilitation, sports injuries, and geriatric care.
  • Apply manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercises to improve patient mobility and reduce pain.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment strategies accordingly to achieve rehabilitation goals.
  • Educate patients and their families on injury prevention, home exercise programs, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.

Skills

  • The required skills, such as physical therapy, rehabilitation, and orthopedic rehabilitation, are applied daily to assess patient conditions and develop targeted treatment plans that address specific physical impairments.
  • Manual therapy skills are essential for hands-on interventions that alleviate pain and restore function.
  • Knowledge of sports injuries and sports medicine enables the therapist to treat athletes effectively and support their return to activity.
  • Geriatric rehabilitation skills are used to tailor treatments that accommodate the unique needs of older adults, promoting independence and safety.

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an APTA-approved physical therapy program with a current Oklahoma state license and BLS certification. Experience with adult and geriatric populations in hospital or outpatient settings is preferred.
