They are responsible for establishing patient care priorities, documenting medical records, and ensuring safe, effective treatment under the guidance of a coach.

Job Title New Grad RN Resident - Med Surg and Urology Location Stuart Facility Martin Health North Department MMC Surgical Urology 4NE-Cleveland Clinic Martin Health Job Code 000234 Shift Days Schedule 7:00am-7:30pm Job Summary Job Details Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated, state-of-the-art medical campus that includes Diagnostic Centers, Outpatient Surgery and a 24-hour Emergency Department.

Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit, multispecialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education.

The 44-bed Med/Surg and Urology Units on the 4th floor at Martin Health North provide care to patients with kidney disease, high blood pressure and other related issues.

The Renal Unit has 18 beds while the Urology Unit has 26 beds.

As an RN Resident on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in ensuring these patients have the best treatment experience possible.

This team has an enriched culture of respect, education and high reliability with a focus on the safety of the team, patients and visitors.

You will learn from inspiring and highly motivated coaches, allowing you to enhance your skills and grow as a nurse.

You may also take part in committees and shared governance all while you climb the clinical ladder.

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM – 7:30PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will: Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.

Provide direct nursing care, alongside a coach, in accordance with established healthcare organization policies, procedures and protocols.

Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care activities based on the following: acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability.

Initiate and/or maintain interventions to assure continuity of safe/effective care for patients.

Respond to data indicating risk to individual's health and initiate action to correct, reduce, or prevent the risk.

Seek supervision, consultation, assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.

Comply with established hospital/department personnel policies.

Use communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes.

Document patient's medical record according to established guidelines.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program) Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross New graduate or less than one year RN work experience OR experienced RN moving from non-inpatient to acute direct care clinical inpatient setting with less than one year of current acute direct patient care RN experience Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) Physical Requirements: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
