Work Experience 1 or more years experience in Medical Terminology (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire (Required) Emergency Center Employees: Crisis Response Training required within 6 months of hire (Required)
Provide assistance to the nurses with direct-patient care. Communicates with and keeps manager informed of unit activities, needs and problems related to patient care. Maintains established departmental, unit and hospital guidelines, policies and procedures. Follows established routines and utilize supplies and equipment in a cost-effective manner. Implements and maintains factors related to safety and effectiveness of patient outcomes. Administers necessary actions to comply with daily patient hygiene standards.
Documents and submits required information and data in a timely fashion. Clearly and accurately documents designated processes, policies, products, service offerings, etc. Ensures that documentation is tailored to expected readers / users. Uses correct terminology. Conforms to required style and format.
Demonstrates technical skill in using equipment appropriate for role. Understands equipment operation. Maintains equipment in working order. Troubleshoots equipment problems. Uses technology to increase productivity. Adapts to new technology

Additional Duties Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.

Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs).
Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills. Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
Requires a High School Diploma or GED and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Experience in medical terminology is preferred.
