This allows our team to deliver high-quality, timely care for a wide variety of cases! No two shifts are ever the same. Our medical team manages everything from minor injuries and routine emergencies to complex critical cases, such as septic ruptures, orthopedic trauma, cardiac arrest, and more. The diverse caseload offers continual opportunities to challenge and expand your clinical skills while making a meaningful impact on the lives of pets and their families. Job Description

Our veterinary technician assistants work alongside veterinarians and vet techs to provide hands-on animal care. They prep examination rooms, safely restrain animals for procedures, monitor recovering patients, and handle facility sanitation. This vital role balances clinical duties with routine patient husbandry. Core Responsibilities Patient Care & Handling Restraint: Safely and securely hold animals for examinations, blood draws, injections, IVC placements, and radiographs Husbandry: Feed, walk, bathe, and monitor hospitalized animals, reporting any behavioral or health changes to the medical team.

  • Administer oral or topical medications as prescribed by the veterinarian, IF requested to do so by the technician/assistant on shift.

  • Work: Prepare biological samples (fecal, urine, blood) and assist with basic laboratory diagnostics if needed.

  • Sanitation: Sterilize surgical instruments,, wrapping packs clean examination tables, wash laundry, and disinfect kennels and cages.

Qualifications

We’re looking for: Basic familiarity with animal anatomy, physiology, and common veterinary terminology. Compassionate and calm team player. The ability to multi-task. Must be able to properly restrain pets. Strong communication skills. Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus! Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset. High school diploma or equivalent is typically required; on-the-job training is common, though vocational certification can be an asset. Must be able to stand for long periods and frequently lift or maneuver animals weighing 40 lbs. or more.

Requirements
